Hybrid Quantum Dot as Promising Tools for Theranostic Application in Cancer

Cancer is one of the leading causes death worldwide. In last few decades, cancer treatment has come a long way, but multidrug resistance (MDR) in still low survival rates. It means that much research required for an accurate diagnosis and effective therapy. The new era could include theranostic approaches targeted delivery chemotherapeutic agents utilizing nanoparticulate system. Recently, there been interest gained among researchers carbon-based graphene-based quantum dots due to their higher biocompatibility ease biofunctionalization compared conventional heavy metal dots. Moreover, these have various interesting utilities, including bioimaging, biosensing, dots-mediated drug delivery, role photodynamic therapy (PDT) photothermal (PTT). current review highlighted utility hybrid as system different cancers discussed bio-molecules conjugated investigated diagnostic/therapeutic applications cancer. influence conjugation biomolecules, such folic acid, PEG, etc., with on biopharmaceutical attributes (such aqueous solubility, tumor penetrability, stability loaded therapeutics microenvironment), drugs specifically tissues, its therapeutic outcome also discussed.
